Browser App

InnerWorks is available as a Progressive Web App (PWA) — you can install it directly from your browser for a native-like experience without going through an app store.

What is the browser app?

The InnerWorks browser app works just like a native app on your device. When installed, it:

  • Opens in its own window (no browser toolbar)
  • Appears on your home screen or app launcher
  • Supports push notifications
  • Loads quickly with cached assets

Installing on desktop (Chrome/Edge)

  1. Visit your organization’s InnerWorks URL (e.g., ooda.innerworks.gigabox.ai)
  2. Sign in to your account
  3. Look for the install icon in the browser address bar (a small download arrow or plus icon)
  4. Click it and confirm the installation
  5. InnerWorks will open in its own window and appear in your system’s app launcher

Alternatively, if you see the Install InnerWorks banner at the top of the page, click the Install button.

Installing on Android

  1. Open InnerWorks in Chrome
  2. You’ll see a banner at the top: “Install InnerWorks for the best experience”
  3. Tap Install
  4. The app will be added to your home screen

If you don’t see the banner, tap the Chrome menu (three dots) and select Add to Home Screen or Install App.

Installing on iOS (iPhone/iPad)

iOS does not show an automatic install prompt. To install:

  1. Open InnerWorks in Safari (other browsers don’t support PWA installation on iOS)
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up)
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
  4. Tap Add to confirm

The InnerWorks icon will appear on your home screen.

Push notifications

Once installed, you can enable push notifications to get reminders about your daily practice:

  1. Go to Settings (Profile tab)
  2. In the Notifications section, ensure push notifications are enabled
  3. Click Enable Browser Notifications if prompted
  4. Allow notifications when your browser asks for permission

On iOS, push notifications require the app to be installed to your home screen (see installation steps above).

Offline behavior

The browser app caches essential files so the app shell loads even without a network connection. When offline:

  • The app interface loads from cache
  • Previously viewed pages remain accessible
  • New content and API calls require a network connection
  • You’ll see a loading or error state for data that can’t be fetched

When your connection returns, the app automatically resumes normal operation.

Updating the app

The browser app updates automatically. When a new version is deployed:

  1. The service worker detects the update
  2. New files are cached in the background
  3. The next time you open the app, you’ll get the latest version

No manual update is needed.
