Daily Practice

The daily practice is the heart of InnerWorks. Each day, you engage with four personalized practices — one for each dimension of the 4R Framework — plus four brief insights.

Starting your practice

Open the InnerWorks app and tap on your first practice card. The recommended order follows the 4R sequence:

  1. Rootedness — Ground yourself in your values and identity
  2. Regulate — Build awareness of your emotional and mental state
  3. Reframe — Shift perspective on a challenge or situation
  4. Recover — Restore energy and plan for renewal

You can complete the practices in any order, but the sequence is designed to build on each dimension progressively.

Engaging with a practice

Each practice screen includes three elements:

Title

A concise, evocative heading (3-8 words) that captures the day’s focus for that R. Titles are unique each day and designed to draw you in.

Content

Two to three paragraphs of substantive guidance. This is the core of the practice — it connects Coach Arms’ methodology to your personal context, offering practical insight grounded in your values, situation, and goals.

Read through the content at your own pace. You might find it helpful to pause and reflect as you read.

Voice narration

If you’ve enabled voice narration in Settings > Voice, an audio player appears below the practice content. The player supports play/pause, a progress bar, and playback speed control (1x, 1.25x, 1.5x). Audio generates automatically on your first view of the practice — a brief loading indicator appears while it’s being prepared. You can read along while listening or simply listen on its own.

Reflection prompt

A single, thought-provoking question related to the practice. This is your invitation to engage more deeply with the material.

Writing reflections

After reading a practice, you have the opportunity to write a brief reflection in response to the prompt. Reflections are:

  • Private — Never visible to your organization’s administrators
  • Auto-saved — Your text saves automatically as you type (with a 2-second delay)
  • Synced on completion — Saved to the server when you mark the practice as complete
  • Persistent — Available in your reflection history for personal review

You don’t have to write a reflection for every practice. Even a sentence or two can deepen your engagement, but the choice is always yours.

Marking practices complete

After engaging with a practice (and optionally writing a reflection), tap Mark Complete. This:

  • Records your completion in your engagement history
  • Syncs any reflection you wrote to the server
  • Updates your progress indicator on the Today screen

Daily insights

After completing your 4R practices (or at any time), explore the four daily insights:

  • Balance — Physical and mental well-being
  • Money — Financial awareness and stewardship
  • Leadership — Professional growth and team dynamics
  • Mind — Cognitive development and learning

Insights are brief (1-2 paragraphs) and designed to expand your daily growth beyond the four practices. They’re not tracked as separate completion items — read what interests you.

Progress tracking

Your engagement is tracked over time on the Progress tab:

  • Current streak — Consecutive days with at least one completed practice
  • Best streak — Your longest consecutive streak
  • Completion rate — Percentage of available practices you’ve completed
  • Practice balance — How evenly you engage across the four Rs
  • Reflection stats — Frequency and depth of your reflections
  • Reflection history — Tap View All to browse past reflections grouped by week, with optional filtering by practice type
  • Theme retrospectives — When you complete a theme, the platform generates a personalized retrospective summarizing your growth journey through that theme, including engagement stats and a narrative reflection

Tips for building a daily habit

  • Same time each day — Choose a consistent time that works for your schedule (morning, lunch, or evening)
  • Start with one R — If 10 minutes feels like too much, start with just one practice and build from there
  • Use reflections — Even brief reflections significantly deepen the experience
  • Don’t worry about streaks — If you miss a day, simply return the next day. InnerWorks is designed for sustainable practice, not pressure
